joint blogging adventure. We have to decide on a name today, and we
think we have it. As soon as our first subject goes live you'll hear
about it here and on my twitter: www.twitter.com/jeffgrubb.
Speaking of twitter I'd like to defend it for a second. Since I have
joined twitter I have been networked and have regular correspondenc the
actor Stephen Fry who just direct messaged me. It is sort of a novelty,
but if people are reading my stupid, little messages it increases the
chances that they'll direct their eyes to my work if I link it to
twitter.
This is my third straight blog that I've written from my phone. It is
convenient, too convenient. I don't take time when I'm sitting at my
computer anymore to write out some well formatted and interesting
blogs. Instead you get this babbling drivel.
Castle Crashers and Local Co-Op
My girlfriend's sister and her husband came into town and they all play
a lot of games. They don't quite have the same taste in games as me,
but I figured Castle Crashers has almost universal appeal.
My girlfriend yelled at me for not showing it to her before. She said
it was so cute and all the fart and poop jokes had everyone laughing.
Stephanie, my girlfriend, was actually supposed to be working, but she
couldn't stop watching the game so we got her in and we had a blast
playing over about a day and a half. She wants me to bring it over so
her and I can play together.
I really should write a blog about her gaming habits. She is such a
hardcore gamer, but she gets frustrated so easily. Next blog!
I really appreciate a good local co-op game like Castle Crashers. I
haven't even played it online because it seems like it would be a lot
less fun than having friends and family right in the room. It makes me
sad that a lot more games don't try to do this, but it just isn't a
selling point anymore.
But playing Castle Crashers has me really appreciating some of the finer
aspects of Left 4 Dead's design. The ability to pause the game at any
time and have the AI take over is an amazing feature that needs to be
adopted by every other game immediately.
It is a real bummer when we have to stop the action completely just
because I need to take a good long wee.
Moon
I just started Moon and I don't know what to feel. It is from the same
developers that did the DS FPS Dementium or something. The name eludes
me. But the technology for these games are amazing. I'm just not sold
on the design. The controls are passable, but if it is a shooter the
entire game I am going to hate it.
More on that next time when I should have a full review.
Random Thoughts
- How I Met Your Mother has been great this season. If you aren't
watching it I am going to punch you right in the weiner or whatever
gender-specific genitalia you may happen to carry between your legs.
- I got CivRev from Gamefly and sent it back without even playing it. I
played the bitch out of that game on the DS. It was like #7 on my
queue.
- I have a pretty good counter argument for one of our early subjects
for the new site that I keep talking about.

Punch me in the weiner? Watch Juno much!? Actually, I'm safe; I love the hell out of How I Met Your Mother, NPH FTW! Castle Crashers has been my gaming rock whilst playing with my brother online. Unfortunately, we live half a country apart; so this'll have to do.
Aren't we part of your blogging adventure?! I suppose Niko and I aren't so much writing about games though.
Stephen Fry has a beautiful voice. Truly.
All you have to do is let me know and ill be Crashing Castles with you over xbl of course. Which wont be any different with me seeing as youve never seen me.
